PeopleSoft HCM Update Image 50 - Pre-Boarding: Enabling Employees to Complete Tasks Before Joining

PeopleSoft HCM Update Image 50 introduces an innovative pre-boarding phase within the onboarding process, enabling prospective employees to complete tasks before their official start date. This enhancement simplifies and accelerates the onboarding journey for new hires, ensuring a seamless transition into their roles.

Overview of the Pre-Boarding Phase

The onboarding process now supports two distinct phases:

  • Pre-Boarding Phase: Tasks completed prior to the hire date.
  • Onboarding Phase: Tasks that commence on or after the first day of work.

Prospective employees can access the onboarding activity guide to initiate their pre-boarding experience. The activity guide is designed to provide clear instructions, task overviews, and step-by-step navigation.

Detailed Features of the Pre-Boarding Process

The Pre-Boarding Instructions Page is the employee’s initial guide, offering:

  • Step-by-Step Guidance: Tasks are displayed with descriptions and expected completion timelines.
  • Manager and Contact Information: The manager or designated point of contact is displayed at the top of the page. Employees can click on their names to send email notifications if they need assistance or clarification.

This interface ensures clarity and helps employees prioritize pre-boarding activities.

Managing Tasks During Pre-Boarding

Employees interact with the pre-boarding phase through an intuitive task management system:

     1. Task List with Status Indicators:

  • Tasks ready for action are marked with a green checkmark.
  • Tasks unavailable until the official hire date are listed with a cross mark.

     2. Marking Tasks as Complete:

  • Employees must confirm the completion of each task by marking it as “Complete.” This is a mandatory step for progressing to the next phase.

Document Acknowledgement

Organizations can enhance compliance and preparedness by:

  • Uploading documents such as contracts, policy manuals, and training guides.
  • Requiring employees to read and acknowledge these documents as part of the pre-boarding phase.

This ensures that employees are informed and ready before their first day of work.
