Benefits of Preferred Names

Implementing Preferred Names comes with several advantages. To reduce the impact on customers, existing name fields have been adapted to store preferred name information, while new fields have been established for legal names.

When the “Display Preferred Name” checkbox is selected on the Installation Options page, it initiates a process that updates the personal data record. This approach minimizes technical disruptions, ensuring that most views and pages remain unaffected.

Bottom Line:

The introduction of Preferred Names in PeopleSoft HCM PUM 49 represents a significant step towards enhancing user personalization and identity management within the platform. By allowing employees to provide and display their preferred names alongside their legal names, organizations can foster a more inclusive and adaptable work environment. This feature not only streamlines name management but also ensures a smoother user experience with minimal disruption.
